Mellow?

So one of the ladies in my support group suggested that I bring in my iPod for transfer and listen to some mellow and relaxing music. I have a few ideas, but is there anyone out there (including my non-infertile friends) with any ideas?

Also, speaking of music, another one of the ladies in my group made everyone a CD of some music she enjoys - some sad (like So Hard by the Dixie Chicks) and some fun (like This One's for the Girls by Martina McBride). For those that know me, usually, I am not a fan of country music, but sometimes I make an exception - especially with these songs as it was really sweet of her to make this CD. I am enjoying all of the songs on the CD.

I have an easy listening playlist these days.

    Holly Brook
    James Blunt

are a couple of nice and mellow tunes. Also anything from Grey's Anatomy. Well some is upbeat but most is mellow.

Honey & The Moon by Joseph Arthur and

The Reason Why by Rachael Yamagata

I get relaxed with Chill Out music. Try listening to all volumes of Cafe del Mar. I feel like I'm on the beach when I listen to it.
I also like Jamie Cullum's All at Sea. It's something I'd listen to when I don't want to be bothered.
    It's really what relaxes you.
If you easily get distracted by lyrics, go for classical and instrumental. You could buy CDs with earth sounds like the waves crashing. It gives me a mental spa.

That was so nice of her. I don't think anyone would appreciate my musical suggestions! LOL. Eminem is not exactly soothing, but when I want relaxing, I usually listen to something classical. I am going to look for the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack now, thanks to Sunny!

This is a great idea. When I went in for my last IUI I didn't bring any music with me. The office music was some sort of new agey Native American flute extravaganza. Very relaxing and lovely...then it switched to YMCA and various other "hits" of the seventies. I wanted to burst out laughing but was afraid I'd shoot all the carefully placed swimmers right out.

Hi - I just found your blog. I am in Seattle too. I just wanted to wish you good luck with your IVF. I've been through 5. Hopefully #1 will be the winner for you. Good luck.

My last transfer - I had a relaxation tape that I listed to. I think it really helped a lot, I was very relaxed.

well, there's the Anji relaxation meditation cd for IVF, but if you just want music, I love, love, love Le Cygne (The Swan) by Saint-Saens from the Carnival of the Animals. It's a cello solo w/piano and it's gorgeous. Of course, I play the cello, so it has a special place for me. I actually walked down the aisle to it. I mentioned it to my acupuncturist and she added it to her list of CDs to play during treatments.
